The excessive production of plastic, totaling 348 million tons annually with a remarkably long environmental lifespan, has led to critical environmental pollution issues and adverse effects on human health and well-being. While technical solutions and legal frameworks have been proposed, changing consumer behavior is essential to combat plastic pollution, given consumers' pivotal role in addressing the problem (De Fano et al., 2022). So, by recycling plastic we can practice responsible production that facilitates responsible consumption behavior, and protection of the environment.
